Elementary and secondary special school

Zespół Szkół Specjalnych nr 95

"Zespół Szkół Specjalnych nr 95" consists of elementary school and gimnazjum (junior high school) for physically disabled children, especially for children with cerebral palsy.

All of our pupils have various educational, intellectual and therapeutic needs. Our school provides them with:

• individual education programmes
• opportunuty to learn in small groups (8 to 10 students)
• presence of teacher's assistants in every classroom
• methods and materials which help children with their learning
• alternative and augmentative communication lessons
• in special cases individual learning at school and at student's home
• assistance from the school psychologist and the school counsellor

Staff

Our teachers have all needed qualifications for working with disabled children. Many of them are able to teach more than one subject. They improve their qualifications by taking part in various courses, workshops and post-graduate studies.

Although the teacher's assistants are the youngest employees in our school, they also often have a few years' experience working with children. They know very well the children they take care of and help them with everyday problems.

  

Society of Children's Friends' Special Secondary School

Society of Children's Friends' Special Secondary School has been opened in September 2003. Its headmistress is Dorota Myślińska.

Our students are young people with physical and other disabilities with certified need for special education. The building has full disabled access.

The students have:

• care of qualified teachers and a specialists' help
• individual education plan
• friendly atmosphere in small classes (no more than 10 students)

The students have free access to internet.

Due to her academic achievements one of our students, Izabela Dziurlikowska has been twice (in 2005 and 2006) awarded The Prime Minister Scholarship.
